One-Stop Early Drug Discovery/Preclinical Services PlatformNHRI. Dr. Ming-Shiu Hung, Investigator

The Institute of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Research (IBPR) at National Health Research Institutes has developed an integrated new drug development core technology platform with the assistance of a project management team. To date, with the support of the integrated technology platform, IBPR has produced several important achievements in new drug discovery and development, such as completing technology transfers, obtaining Investigational New Drug approval from the United States and Taiwan, and one achievement is currently under New Drug Application review. Based on these achievements, IBPR provides this one-stop research and development platform to support early-stage research and drug development and strengthen the foundation and capacity of the industry's research and development. This platform consists of four service domains. The high-throughput screening service uses a core library containing the most structurally diverse core molecules analyzed by artificial intelligence technology to meet the demand for producing hits. Pharmacokinetics service provides in vitro and in vivo drug analysis and connects to Animal pharmacology and Toxicology service. Several established Patient-derived xenograft cancer models are ready to provide service. Early-stage formulation and pharmaceutical development service are closely related to whether the drug can be approved. Through these platforms, we can assist in the validation of novel targets and drug discovery and development, and provide technical support for industry development.
